2023 WWBA Workout Showcase (Sat)
JJ Howe is a 2024 OF/1B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Bonaire, GA who attends Veterans. Tall and lean frame with good physical projection remaining to the frame. Good runner, ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed good athleticism throughout the round, charging in under control with fundamentally sound actions working through the baseball. Low three-quarters release point on throws, recorded throws up to 86 mph. Right-handed hitter, wide base with high hands and a high back elbow in the stance, was on the barrel throughout the round with liners to all fields. Fluid stroke, tight turns with solid strength at impact and more coming as he adds strength. Secondary first baseman, solid footwork around the bag and bounces off well, side arm slot and was accurate around the bag, recorded throws up to 85 mph. Also worked out in the infield, same fundamentally sound actions shown at all positions, clean funnel out front, long arm action to a lower slot, threw it hard and was accurate around the bag. Recorded throws up to 86 mph. Good student. Named to WWBA Workout Showcase (Sat) Top Prospect List.
