Nick Huston is a 2007 RHP with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Hollister CA, who attends Palma HS. Huston has an average build, with a broad core area that could be a glimpse of future strength and power gains with a good core development program. His raw stuff is a bit short of D1 baseball right now, but it is well within reason to believe that in a year or so he will be a solid D1 prospect. His arm works cleanly from a high 3/4 slot and he has a good delivery. Huston has good feel of the baseball and knows how to pitch. His fastball has some good run that may be more pronounced with velocity gains. The curveball and change-up are Huston's best pitches. He spins the breaking ball well and throws it with good control. His change-up has good run and he keeps it down in the zone. He competes very well with his present day stuff and is not afraid to pitch to contact. Huston may be a couple of years away, with JC ball being an option that could give him more development time, both physically and in terms of the development of his stuff.
