Daniel Brandon is a 2021 3B/RHP, 1B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Cleveland, TX who attends Tarkington. Recorded a 7.70 second sixty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with some room to add strength. Primary third baseman with a deliberate movements into and through the fielding process; incorporates segmented footwork into a quick funnel to get into throwing position. Recorded arm strength up to 77 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher; simple operation with deliberate rocker step into a belt high leg lift and efficient movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the low-70s, topping out at 73 mph in this look from a high three-quarters arm slot. Repeats delivery well, holding velocity from both the wind-up and the stretch and mixing his two-pitch effectively. Curveball flashes high 11-5 shape with slower arm speed and loose spin traits. Shows fairly good command to both sides of the plate with fastball and throws a ton of strikes. Also took part in the first baseman portion of the defensive workout, showing agile footwork around the bag and quick release. Recorded arm strength up to 77 mph across the diamond during this portion. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wide, slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow. Incorporates a medium height leg lift for timing and rotational lower half mechanics to get to contact. Displays fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills with looseness to his hands and some impact to the pull-side. Middle-of-the field approach with direct, slightly upward swing path and some present bat speed. Good Student.
