Matt Mueller is a 2008 right hand hitting outfielder/right handed pitcher from Heritage HS, residing in Highlands Ranch, CO. He has a 6'1" 175 lb. frame with a long, lanky body type that still has plenty of room to fill out. At the plate Mueller flashed some interesting ability. He is a timing type of hitter and at times showed that he can drive the ball to the opposite field. His bat speed is good and his swing has some life, which combined with his aggressiveness and good hands give him a chance to develop as a quality college hitting prospect. He is more of a line drive slasher at this point but has enough strength and bat speed to suggest some future power potential. In the field Mueller has a long arm stroke and the ball carreid well out of his hand. He showed adequate corner outfielder fundamentals. Though he was listed as a secondary pitcher, Mueller looked to have more to offer on the mound, long term. His arm stroke is long and clean. He also showed good body control and rhythm in his delivery. He showed control of a fastball that had some sink and topped at 84 mph. Mueller spun his slurvy curveball well and looks capable of developing that pitch further with more mound time. Presently he is a D1 follow prospect.
