John Podgorski is a 2024 RHP/2B/OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Sewell, NJ who attends St. Augustine Prep. Recorded a 7.60 second sixty-yard dash time. Projectable, long-limbed frame with plenty of time and room to physically mature. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from a quick paced delivery with tons of deception and upside. Fastball worked in the low-80s for the duration of his outing, flashing exploding life to the bottom of the zone and topped out at 84 mph in this look. Velocity held in the 82-83 mph range for majority. Displays good lower half movements down the slope with extension and downhill plane to his fastball. Mixed in faded changeup as go-to secondary offering, as it showed both horizontal and vertical depth to its shape. Will continue to develop full arsenal as he continues to mature and adds velocity. Significant upside remaining on the mound. Secondary outfielder with a solid defensive skill set and controlled, smooth actions throughout the fielding process. Incorporates good footwork to field out in front, while carrying his momentum well into release. Recorded online, accurate throws up to 83 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and knee-to-knee loading mechanism. Whole field approach with consistent line drive impact and excellent feel for the barrel. Displayed good adjustability from pitch-to-pitch and showcased burgeoning gap-to-gap power potential. Will continue to improve with minor swing adjustments and additional strength. Young, projectable prospect with solid two-way abilities and loads of upside left on the mound. Excellent Student.
