Kevin Cordes is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 5-6 155 lb. frame from Manvel, TX who attends Lutheran South Academy. Young, square shouldered frame with present strength to frame and additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.82 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes short steps moving towards the ball and fields it out front, works with a longer arm stroke through the back, true throws with carry out of hand and accuracy to the bag, will continue to refine overall mechanics. Also pitched, higher leg lift up to belt with short gather on backside, similar full arm action through the back while working exclusively out of the stretch. Fastball topped out at 76 mph, generates plane on the pitch with occasional cut, can implement additional lower half into drive down the mound. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even and bent knee stance with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; subtle shift through lower half moving into contact. Long swing path through the zone, utilizes hands well in swing and shows carry off the barrel when squared. Swings with intent, generates occasional back spin to pull side, projects with refined lower half mechanics.
