Hutch Bray is a 2021 C/1B with a 6-0 225 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Woodberry Forest. Large physical build with room to still strengthen as he continues to develop. Primary catcher, developing softness with the glove behind the plate. Sets up in a conventional crouch, longer arm action on his throws to all bags. Replaces feet well, throws are accurate to all bags. Posted a 2.15 second pop time in the catching workouts. At the plate, uses an upright and even stance with a simple stride trigger. Simple approach overall that looks to use the middle of the field. Ball jumps off the bat into either gap. Flat barrel plane through the zone, excellent student in the classroom as well.
