Alex Bridgewaters is a 2022 RHP/C, 2B, SS, IF, OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Elizabethtown, KY who attends Elizabethtown. Compact frame with a lean build. Frame projects for additional strength with continued physical maturity. Primary right handed pitcher with a small side step to medium leg lift delivery. Rocks to back side at gather and stays flexed. Worked to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum to finish. Clean arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly with some run back to arm side, topped at 73 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/5 shape with looser spin and some depth. Also flashed a changeup with sink in the mid 60's. Looked to challenge hitters to the bottom of the zone and induce weak contact. Also worked out defensively from behind the plate showing a low, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground while working out of crouch with smooth paced footwork. Clean, loose exchanges while working through transition and released from a three-quarters slot. Switch hitter with a spread, even stance and toe tap trigger. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane. Flashed better barrel control with some jump off the barrel from the right side of the plate. Primarily looked to hit the ball on a line to the middle of the field from each side of the plate. Good student as well.
