Nicholas Ammann is a 2021 C/1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Williston Park, NY who attends Herricks. Medium, square shouldered frame with present strength throughout frame. Ran an 8.19 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, started with a higher set behind plate during drills, receives the ball out front, upper body release and projects with additional footwork gaining ground, short arm action on throws with accuracy down to second base, arm strength will continue to develop with added lower half. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a short stride moving into contact. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball, keeps hands inside on swing and shows carry coming off of the barrel. Uses strength to generate bat speed, works to the middle and pull side parts of the field, occasionally gets to front side early. Very good student.
