James Gil is a 2027 SS/RHP, 3B with a 5-7 130 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends American Heritage. Compact, wiry build with plenty of twitch in the frame. Ran a 7.88 in the 60-yard dash. Primary infielder, shows advanced actions and feel for the leather at his age. Athleticism shows on the dirt moving to either side with quick transfers and carry to his arm across. Also moved well at catcher, athletic out of the crouch with a good pop and solid arm strength. Right-handed pitcher, works from a semi-windup delivery into a shorter three-quarter slot. Fastball showed some cutting action with a late biting slider and promising changeup. Right-handed batter, open stance and high hand set. Stays short from a repeatable path with some feel to pull. Present backspin and carry that way, can really develop as he matures. Named to Top Prospect list.
