Dominic Aquino is a 2023 C/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Cohoes, NY who attends Shaker. Recorded a 7.56 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, strongly built frame with plenty of room and time to physically mature. Primary catcher that receives from a low, slightly side-saddled stance with soft hands and fairly quick mid-line transfers. Incorporates slightly uphill actions out of the crouch to gain ground towards his target, while working into a shorter arm action to throw. Recorded arm strength up to 69 mph from behind the plate during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a spread stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Slightly lofted stroke with rotational lower half mechanics, strength through contact and leverage out in front. Displayed natural lift to his swing with gap-to-gap power potential and fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills. Will continue to improve with minor mechanical adjustments and maturity. Fundamentally sound defensive skill set with plenty of time to continue developing and physically mature. Good Student.
