Jayden Cummings is a 2022 SS/OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Evergreen Park, IL who attends Simeon Career Academy. Recorded a 6.81 second 60 yard dash time, showcasing good speed. Slender and high-waisted frame with an athletic build. Primary shortstop, sees it in and circles it well. Compact arm stroke with quick feet and solid footwork. Works through the ball well with soft hands, moves well laterally and shows a quick transfer. Secondary outfielder, fields it cleanly out front with easy footwork. Very loose and fluid actions, light on his feet and shows smooth glove work. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open stance and even hand set. Direct swing path with quick hands and present bat speed. Struggled to consistently repeat the operation at times but shows the tools needed to improve. Utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger, ball really jumps off the bat when staying to the middle of the field. Good student. Named to the 2021 National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
