Tyler Schrampf is a 2022 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-10 190 lb. frame from Gallatin, TN who attends Lipscomb Academy. Recorded a 7.45 second sixty-yard dash time. Compact frame with long levers and present lower half strength. Primary left-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Simple, repeatable delivery with slightly coiled leg lift and good lower half movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the mid-70s for the majority of his outing, topping out at 76 mph from an over-the-top slot. Confident strike thrower with two-pitch mix, cutting and sinking his fastball to both sides of the plate effectively. Breaking ball is still in the developmental stages, flashing loose spin traits and good speed differential off his fastball. Secondary outfielder, anticipatory steps into the fielding process, fielding properly out in front and gathering cleanly. Maintains momentum well through release, recording arm strength up to 80 mph during drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Incorporates good balance throughout swing, staying compact with his hands and whip to his barrel. Whole field approach with opposite field intent due to slightly elongated swing path. Displayed fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills with some feel for the barrel and some impact when on-time. Will continue to improve with minor refinements to his skill set and additional strength. Excellent Student.
