Jake Tschida is a 2022 OF/LHP with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Cincinnati, OH who attends Roger Bacon. Medium frame with an athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.86 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with aggressive footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels off to side and worked through exchange quickly. Released from a three-quarters slot producing on line carry to the bag at 82 mph. Left handed hitter with an upright, slightly closed stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Compact, inside hand path to baseball with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Flashed some hand quickness through the zone while employing a mid field approach. Flashed the barrel control to work the other way as well. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Higher leg lift and stayed slightly flexed on back side at gather. Worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Hides baseball well at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed occasional life through the zone in the upper 70's, topped at 78 mph. Curveball had 1/7 shape with looser spin and good depth to the bottom of the zone in the upper 60's. Consistently attacked the strike zone and challenged hitters with both offerings.
