Dillon Geraghty is a 2007 3B/RHP with a 6'3'', 180 lb. frame from Norcross GA, who attends Greater Atlanta Christian HS. He has a tall, athletic frame with broad shoulders and developing strength. He showed nice agility for his size at third base, with soft hands and smooth actions. His throws have nice carry across the infield from a long, extended arm stroke. Geraghty hits from an open stance that he never closes with low hands in his starting position. He takes a full, hard swing with good bat speed and good extension out front. One of the PG scouts called it a "big fly type swing" and it will hit some home runs, especially as he adds strength. Geraghty also pitched and showed some promise on the mound. He has a clean arm arc and a slight slinging arm action. Geraghty's fastball was 79-81 mph and had very good life. All his secondary pitches had quality. He maintained his arm speed well on his change up and threw both a curveball and a slider. Geraghty's curveball was his best pitch, with tight spin and an 11/5 break. Geraghty commanded all his pitches well. All he needs is a bit more velocity on all his pitches and he shows the skills to pitch at the next level. Geraghty is also a good student.
