James Battersby is a 2024 SS/RHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Hoover, AL who attends Spain Park. Medium athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, sets up slightly open with a big hand drop load, hands were well timed, has fast hands and creates bat speed, owned the right centerfield gap both in batting practice and in the games and showed power and carry with three extra base hits, adjusts well to off-speed, executed his plan very well. 6.94 runner in the sixty. Primary middle infielder on defense, has good quickness and gets in position to field the ball well, fields it cleanly, best throws are when he's on top of the ball, tends to drop his slot and have his throws sail on him. Also pitched, medium length arm action to a 3/4's arm slot, repeats his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, velocity played up. Has a nice curveball with good spin and a nice feel for throwing it to spots, also flashed a workable change up. Outstanding student. Named to the Fall Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
