Greg Palamountain is a 2023 SS/MIF with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Lafayette, CA who attends IMG Academy. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows balance to actions and fields the ball out front with clean glove skills, works to a higher slot and shows quickness to arm action, pulls down throws well and actions projects, short steps on the charge. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set with a lower back elbow; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Employs a contact oriented approach, upper body dominant swing but controls the barrel and uses hands well. Keeps hands inside the ball, occasionally gets downward with swing, can implement additional lower half into swing. Excellent student.
