2023 Florida Workout Showcase (Friday)
Justin Cruz is a 2026 MIF/RHP/OF with a 6-1 172 lb. frame from Miami, FL. A taller and athletic frame with some length in the lower half. Ran an 8.01 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder who had some twitch with some bounce as he charges the ball. Had some whip to the arm stroke with a good arm action and clean release. Threw 80 mph from the outfield with good arm speed, being accurate to the bag. As an infielder, he showed the pocket super early with clean glove actions. He had a clean arm slot with a good whip to it, throwing 81 mph across the infield. He made outs at first. A right-handed hitter with a wider base and high-set hands. Uses a leg lift trigger, and the hands get deep in the load before he works to get the hands to it with an inside-out path. Produced some good swings back up the middle and into the backside gap during his round of BP. Great student.
