Roman Smith is a 2022 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-3 230 lb. frame from Richmond Hill, GA who attends The Savannah Country Day. Recorded a 8.86 second sixty-yard dash time. Large, physical frame with well-proportioned lower half. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch. Deceptive delivery with slight cross-fire release, while working from a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s for the majority of his outing, topping out at 79 mph with occasional cut to it. Displayed good composure on the mound, filling up the strike zone with his three-pitch mix. Curveball is better of his two secondary offerings at present, showing gradual sweeping action to it 11-5 shape. Efficient outing with confidence on the mound. Secondary first baseman with deliberate actions throughout the fielding process. Incorporates slight waist bend to field, funneling cleanly and working into an over-the-top arm slot. Recorded arm strength up to 75 mph across the diamond. Took part in the infielders portion of the defensive workout as well, where he displayed similar actions and arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, slightly open stance with tight hand set, high back elbow and hover trigger. Lofted stroke with elongated swing path, developing feel for the barrel and some extension out in front. Middle-of-the field approach with pull-side intent, rotational lower half mechanics and occasional line drive impact when on-time. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
