Nicholas Gioia is a 2023 C/RHP/MIF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Sanford, FL who attends Lake Mary. Ran a 7.11 second sixty. Primary catcher with a medium build. Receives the ball well, out front behind the plate before gaining ground into the throws. Does a nice job getting the transfer out at the mid line and shows some arm strength with a 2.01 second pop time. Showed a compact delivery on the mound with a longer arm action through the back. The fastball comes out clean with developing command as he sat 81-85 mph with 2300 RPM showing some carry through the zone. Right-handed hitter, starts slightly closed using a simple stride and load. Shifts the weight onto the front side with a linear bat path working to the inner half of the baseball and going the other way with his best contact. Good student.
