Ezra Olivares is a 2021 SS/2B with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Huntington, CA who attends Calvary Chapel. Recorded a 7.11 second 60 yard dash time. Smaller build with room to fill. Primary shortstop, circles it well and shows feel for the glove with soft hands. Fluid actions with decent carry across at 80 mph, moves well laterally, shows solid fundamentals. Right-handed hitter with a simple no stride operation and even base. Low and deep hand set, keeps a level swing path, has trouble getting the barrel turned over. Developing rhythm, has the tendency to cut himself off. Hit some well to the pull side, made consistent contact during his round. Bat speed will improve with added strength and by swinging with higher intent. Good student.
