Colton Cross is a 2023 RHP/IF/UT with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Troup, TX who attends Arp. Medium build with room to fill out as he continues to develop. Primary pitcher, has shorter arm action from three-quarters to high three-quarters slot. Side steps to a mid leg lift, good direction down the hill. Higher front side when he separates. Has a tendency to fall off towards his glove side. Fastball up to 82 mph, developing command to all four quadrants. Some natural arm side run to his fastball. Mixes in a low 11-to-5 shaped slider with some good horizontal bite to the plate. Also throws a 66 mph curveball with good late break and depth. Secondary pitches possess solid swing and miss ability. In the infield, glove works well out in front, looks to make good first step reads off of the bat. From the outfield, fields out in front and is meticulous with his glove work. Strong arm with great carry, throws stay online to all bags. Was gunned at 85 mph to the plate in the outfield workouts. At the plate, uses a wide and upright stance with a longer leg kick trigger. Hands go down and back into his load, looks to use the middle of the field, great student in the classroom as well.
