Tait Tierney is a 2026 RHP/3B, MIF, OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Fairfax, IA who attends Prairie. Lean frame with a more compact build. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher who worked from the wind-up. He had a sidestep into his leg lift with a placement step as he worked into it. He threw from a higher three-quarters arm slot with a clean release. Out of the stretch, he shortens up the leg lift and is more direct with his move down the slope. He extends well. Overall, he showed a loose arm stroke with a clean move downhill. The fastball worked into the mid-70s and had arm-side run and sink to it. He pairs it with a curveball that has a bigger 11/5-shaped break to it. Showed a changeup in the mix, pronating well to turn it over and create some depth. He threw strikes and missed barrels to induce weak contact. He went out and attacked hitters. He would backfoot the curveball for some whiffs pitching to left-handed hitters. Moved well off the mound, fielding his position cleanly. Threw 3.0 innings, allowed 2 hits, and struck out 3 opposing hitters. He's a right-handed hitter with an even base, higher-set hands, and a high-back elbow. Uses a squared stance to start and has a leg lift trigger to get on time with pitches. He is direct with the hands and drives the ball well up the middle. He's able to get the hands in and work to the ball out front for good pull-side contact. Plenty to like throughout his round of BP swings, showing a simple and fluid operation. He stayed compact and executed well, connecting well. Used the whole field during his round of swings. Worked out as an infielder, moving well laterally with athleticism showing in his actions. He had snatchy hands with accurate throws at 79 mph across the diamond. He fielded the slow roller well and made the play smoothly. He had a quiet glove with fluid movements throughout, funneling well into it. Also worked out as an outfielder, showing clean footwork, fielding the ball one-handed with a good whip to the arm, and carry on his throws that were at 78 mph from the outfield. He carried momentum through it well as he charged it and worked into the throw. Showed quicker release with a shorter arm action and had good flight on his throws. The ball comes out well. Excellent student.
