Deegan Grgas is a 2023 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA who attends San Pedro. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean and projectable build, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.84 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fast and active footwork moving towards the ball, fields the ball to side, works to a high three-quarters release point, can continue to incorporate additional lower half into release, arm strength and carry on throws will keep developing. Also pitched, similar high three-quarters release point on the mound, effort at release, up to 75 mph with fastball, worked to arm side, gets inconsistent with release point, flashed a curveball up to 61 mph. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Loads hands up at start of swing, limited shift through lower half but well synced and repeats. Short swing, showed comfort working to the pull side with line drive contact, flashes carry when on plane and extended out front. Very good student.
