Christopher J Lugo-Rodriguez is a 2021 OF/SS, 3B with a 5-10 148 lb. frame from Rio Grande, PR who attends Next Level American Academy. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.46 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows high energy to actions moving towards the ball, strides on line with lower half and works on top of throws well, quickness and looseness to arm, shows whip at release, can continue to incorporate additional lower half into release. Gets low behind the ball in the infield, extra step coming through release, shows softness to hands and present arm strength and carry across the diamond. Also pitched, shows smooth and repeatable mechanics on the mound with balance throughout; loose arm stroke through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Worked mostly off fastball and fills the zone, topped out at 82 mph and mixed in a curveball at 71 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even base in the box and utilizes a simple approach/swing. Arm bar at start of swing, employs a contact oriented approach with a linear path through the zone. Keeps hands inside the ball, projects with additional lower half incorporated into swing, best contact to pull side.
