Devante' Mitchum is a 2022 OF/C, IF with a 5-7 160 lb. frame from Gainesville, FL who attends Santa Fe. The primary outfielder has a shorter athletic frame with some twitch in his body. Devonte has a quick and aggressive approach through the ball in the outfield, funneling out front with a quick transfer. Accurate with his throws to the bag. He worked out on the infield as well, sitting back and using his hands effectively in his funnel. Good footwork and timing with a clean arm stroke. The right-handed hitter starts upright and uses a leg lift and small hand load to create solid bat speed. Intent to the process and the ball jumps to the pull side when he stays on with the front side. Quickness to the hands and solid bat to ball skills. Good overall athlete.
