Cole Johnson is a 2023 1B/RHP with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from The Hills, TX who attends Lake Travis. Extra-Large frame with a lean build showing room to fill out throughout the frame. Ran a 7.47 second sixty yard dash. Primary First Baseman, sitting back on the baseball as he makes sure he keeps it in front of him. Gathers and then shuffles into release. Accurate around the bag as he threw it 84 mph during drills. Arm strength present and fits the build positionally. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, flashed a simple operation as he utilized drop and drive mechanics. Released from a three-quarter slot while getting extended down the mound. Easy arm action and shows more velocity down the road. Fastball up to 82 mph and mixed in a tight spinning breaking ball with 11-to-5 movements. Breaking ball is an out pitch as he got plenty of swing & misses. Right-Handed Hitter, starting balanced with high hands behind the ear. Big weight shift and then moves it back forward before working into a linear swing path. Strength present in the swing as he generated easy bat speed. Proved he could lift the baseball as well and drive it with backspin. Outstanding Student. Named to National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
