Michael Colasanti is a 2020 RHP/2B with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Mamaroneck, NY who attends Rye Neck Senior High School. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and has a projectable build with room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a balanced leg lift, works with a fast pace and drives off back side well with a sound follow through at release. Short arm circle through the back side working to a mid three-quarters release point; effort at release but gets on top of fastball well to work down in the zone. Pitched to contact and able to induce weak contact off the barrel, fastball topped out at 75 mph, mostly true in life but fills the zone. Flashed short curveball at 60 mph with 12-6 shape and showed a changeup at 63 mph. Shows athleticism off the mound as well. Accurate throws across the infield, fields the ball out front and glove plays at the ball, actions will continue to develop moving forward. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box with a wide base. Strides slightly open into contact but able to get the barrel to the ball with a linear path. Works all fields with a contact approach and showed most comfort turning on the ball and going back up the middle. Good student.
