Gavin Watkins is a 2023 RHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Ardmore, OK who attends Plainview. Long build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Works from the stretch with a multi-part delivery that creates plenty of deception for the hitters, repeats the mechanics very well for his age and their complexity arm works well coming through and out front. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight but thrown for strikes. Tends to slow his arm on his curveball, gets occasional 11/5 depth. Developing change up. Threw strikes and competed very hard. Promising young right hander who will keep improving. Very good student.
