Tate McGuire is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Kansas City, MO who attends Liberty North HS. Recorded a 6.83 second 60-yard dash time. Lean, projectable frame with an athletic build and lots of room to add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher who only pitched during the event. Turn step into a leg lift at the belt and strides open. Quick arm stroke with an over the top arm slot and an advanced repertoire. Shorter stride down the mound and sinks the fastball that was mostly 85-88 mph and topped out at 90 mph. Slider was primary secondary pitch with late bite and good horizontal action. Low-70s curveball with 12/6 shape that he can land for strikes and showed a fading changeup. Advanced feel for mixing and was able to garner swing-and-miss with all of his secondaries. Tremendous student. Verbal commitment to Arkansas.
