Matthew Lenczewski is a 2018 RHP/3B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Southbury, CT who attends Pomperaug Regional. Large frame with long limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and works to the plate with some drop and drive lower half actions. Lands at a closed from side position and carries momentum to glove hand side. Long arm circle at separation and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Hides baseball well with a fastball offering that had some downhill angle through the zone in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Maintained arm speed with a curveball offering that had 11/5 shape with solid spin and depth to the bottom of the zone. Flashed the ability to consistently fill the strike zone when repeating arm action and slot. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth, deliberate footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions while picking up the baseball with developing fluidity through exchange. Released from a mid three-quarters arm slot that produced accurate carry to the bag topping at 79 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slight closed stance and simple leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Created slight hand coil at load prior to launching to baseball on a loose, extended path. Barrel came through the zone on a naturally lifted plane. Flashed some strength at contact with occasional jump to the middle of the field when on time and squared. Good student as well.
