Jake Lavin is a 2024 C/3B/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Laguna Beach, CA who attends Santa Margarita Catholic. Medium athletic build with good present strength. Left handed hitter, has good hand quickness starting his swing, fires his hips on time and gets good lower half rotation, consistent timing and gets the barrel out front, tends to cut off his swing out front and can extend better through contact, has good feel for the barrel and projects offensively. Primary catcher on defense, has good athleticism coming out of his crouch, gets some carry on his throws, not consistent yet on his glove positioning and receiving.
