Reese Ruth is a 2020 SS/RHP, MIF with a 5-11 151 lb. frame from Fulton, MS who attends Itawamba Agricultural. Small and young frame, skinny build with plenty of room to continue to grow and fill out. Ran an 8.06 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, took reps in the infield waiting back on the ball, bends waist at gather, should work on bending knees and not so much upper half at gathering point, took a very smooth slow roller repetition just needs to work on movements laterally, average arm strength across the diamond topping out at 80 mph. Secondary righthanded pitcher, turn step into a leg lift to belt line to start windup, short and clean arm stroke up to an extended 3/4 arm slot, stays online with arm and delivery, low effort at release and consistent with mechanics. Fastball is straight and topped out at 77 mph, mixed in an 11-to-5 curveball that he landed for strikes, continuously got on top of the ball and kept it low, filled up the zone for a quick outing with mostly soft contact. Righthanded hitter, wide base with a high hand set and a high back elbow, bat wrap at load, longer swing showing that he could turn the barrel over on the ball, patient approach in game. Good student.
