Jace LaViolette is a 2022 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-5 220 lb. frame from Katy, TX who attends Obra D. Tompkins. Outstanding athletic build, long and strong with lots of physical projection ahead of him. Very good straight ahead runner for his size, 6.50 in the sixty. Left handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a line drive swing plane, works gap to gap with solid bat speed and some jump off the barrel, can turn the barrel on pitches on the inside half well. Shows some arm strength in the outfield, tends to get cross body with his lower half when throwing and can improve the direction of his routes, also plays some first base. Development with his bat will determine his ceiling. Verbal commitment to Louisiana State.
