Andrew Cain is a 2023 3B/SS, RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Oro Valley, AZ who attends Ironwood Ridge. Medium frame with long limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary third baseman with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange efficiently. Released from a three-quarters slot and flashed the ability to throw with accuracy while on the run, topped at 75 mph. Left handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and medium leg lift trigger. Works to contact with linear lower half actions. Clean hand path to baseball with a naturally leveraged barrel plane through extension. Flashed present bat speed with strength at contact that generated good carry to the pull side gap when squared. Also pitched showing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly producing occasional downhill tilt in the low to mid 70's, topped at 75 mph. Curveball showed 10/5 shape with looser spin and occasional depth in the low 60's. Also flashed a sinking changeup in the mid 60's. Very good student as well.
