Edian Espinal is a 2022 SS/2B with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Viera, FL who attends Viera. Medium frame with compact, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.00 seconds. Switch-hitter, quick hands from left side with advanced bat speed and barrel feel, understands the zone well and battles to get hittable pitches, can drive the ball with present extra base power. Showed solid feel from the right side as well, not as fluid or strong as lefthanded swing but still has barrel feel, whole field approach with strong contact. Worked out in the infield, moves well laterally and shows advanced footwork, hands are clean out front, makes the plays and shows balance, clocked up to 86 mph on throws across. Named to 2021 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List, very good student.
