Joshua Pena is a 2022 RHP/IF with a 6-3 177 lb. frame from Channelview, TX who attends North Shore. Long and lean frame with a ton of room to fill. Recorded a 7.49 second 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, starts with a minor side step into a loose leg lift to the belt, controls the limbs well and stays tall on the backside, on line with the arm in the back, full arm circle with a loose arm and good arm speed to a just above three-quarters slot, fastball shows good heaviness to both halves as he extends well to the plate, curveball shows short break with some depth in the zone, overall great projection across both pitches. Secondary infielder, worked out with long strides to the ball, comfortable with the glove, shows clean funnels and transfers with accuracy on throws across. Right-handed hitter, sets up wide with high hands and a high back elbow, simple toe tap trigger, loose hands to the contact point with some leverage to the swing, flashes of good bat speed and shows power potential in ability to lift the ball with jump when squared.
