Damian Cortez is a 2022 3B/RHP, SS, OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from McAllen, TX who attends Mission. Ran a 7.48-second sixty-yard dash. Primary third baseman with a young frame and room to add strength. Has quick feet and good range in the infield, showcasing a clean funnel out front and the ability to make accurate throws across the diamond. Has developing arm strength up to 73 miles per hour. Right-handed hitter that starts from an upright and even stance, with a medium leg lift trigger and rotational lower half. Has present bat speed, throwing the hands out front with a line drive barrel plane. Swings with intent, executing a middle of the field to pull-side approach and flashing some deep carry to the pull-side. Secondary right-handed pitcher that starts from the windup with a short side step and leg lift to the belt. Has a long arm circle in the back, coming through from a three-quarter slot. Fastball stays fairly straight at 72-76 miles per hour, flashing some glove-side run at times at 72-76 miles per hour. Shows some feel for a curveball with 11-5 shape and developing depth in the upper-50s. Good student.
