Cal Johnson is a 2025 SS/2B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends A3 Academy. Very athletic build with good present strength and room for more. 6.92 runner in the sixty. Fluid athlete in the middle infield on defense, moves well to both sides with easy footwork, trusts his hands and fields the ball cleanly, stays low behind the ball, makes accurate throws with some carry from the hole, has all the tools to stay in the middle infield in the future. Switch-hitter at the plate, better from the left side at present. Left handed swing has good rhythm from a leg raise trigger, creates bat speed with a whippy barrel, pull to mid field contact. Right handed swing has a smaller load with some late hand drop, longer to the ball with less bat speed. Excellent student.
