Mitchell Thornton is a 2020 LHP/1B with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from Elkridge, MD who attends Howard. Medium frame with young, slender build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.73 seconds. Primary lefthanded pitcher; long arm stroke through the back to low three quarters slot, methodical delivery, good balance, fastball worked 62-63 mph with slight arm side life. Showed curveball with 2/8 sweeping shape. Landed both pitches for strikes. Hits from even stance, collapses into lower half and swings on line drive plane, showed good contact skills, went to all fields. Deep funnel when defending, fields cleanly, arm strength clocked up to 65 mph. Very good student.
