Garrett Riley is a 2020 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Santa Ana, CA who attends Mater Dei. Stocky athletic build, primary pitcher. Longer arm action from a three-quarters arm slot. Works straight down the mound. Balanced and athletic throughout. Fastball sits 83-to-86 mph. Lives down in the strike zone. Breaking ball is a 1-to-7 breaking ball that has solid depth and misses bats. From the outfield, has a short arm action and approaches the ball well. Ability to make adjustments on reads and finds solid carry on his throws. At first base, fields out in front and gets off the bag well. Exchanges cleanly and gains ground on his throws. Accurate to all bags. At the plate from the right side, balanced swing with a simple leg lift trigger. Feels like his natural side. Some feel for the barrel with a flat bat plane and fluidity throughout. From the left side, same set up, not much weight transfer, lacks the same fluidity but hands still work well.
