2017 PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase
Tyler Bell is a 2018 SS/RHP, 2B with a 6-2 177 lb. frame from Prattville, AL who attends Prattville Christian Academy. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, gathers nicely behind the plate and shows clean exchanges out of glove, soft hands, easy release on throws and shows solid arm strength and carry across the diamond, showed range to either side in game setting. Also pitched, leg lift up past belt with a hip turn at top, gets tall on back side, shows a full and easy arm stroke through the back working to an extended three-quarters release. Has rhythm to delivery, ball comes out well and shows quickness to arm action, works very quick, fastball topped out at 85 mph with occasional cut action to glove side. Worked down with fastball and filled the zone, landed curveball for strikes with 12-6 shape and depth at 70 mph, slows arm action prior to release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow int the box; loads hands back at start of swing. Full path through the zone and shows comfort working the middle of the field while showing ability to hit to all fields. Found the barrel in live action with jump off the barrel when squared , stays direct to the ball with hand path, shifts weight well through lower half. Named to Fall National Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
