Justin Ruble is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-5 220 lb. frame from Tomball, TX who attends Tomball Memorial HS. Tall, large frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a smooth paced rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side and creates slightly coil over back leg at gather. Uses lower half well while working to the plate with drop and drive actions. Hides baseball well at take back and showed very good arm speed while releasing from a three-quarters slot. Fastball jumped out of hand very well generating steep downhill tilt with heavy run to arm side in the upper 80's, topped at 90 miles per hour. Maintained arm speed with a curveball that had 11/5 shape with tight spin and sharp, late depth. Also flashed a changeup in warm ups that showed some fade with sink to arm side. Worked to all quadrants of the zone with ease and consistently over matched hitters with both pitches. Very confidant on the mound and showed a very high pitching IQ. Right handed hitter with a balanced, even stance and simple front side trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half and showing a loose hand path to contact. Barrel came through the zone on a slightly lifted plane and created hard contact due to present strength. Ball jumped off the barrel well generating tight back spin with good carry when squared. Excellent student. Committed to Texas A&M. Named to the 2017 South Top Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
