William Stewart is a 2019 LHP with a 6-1 166 lb. frame from Nashville, TN who attends Montgomery Bell Academy. Lean and athletic frame with plenty of room to add strength. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a short turn step as a rocker into the leg lift above the belt. Bit of spine tilt at the gather but gets the arm through on time. Long arm action with a soft stab in the beginning of the full arm circle. Fastball up to 77 mph and flashes some cutting life. Over the top slot helps create good angle and plane on the fastball. Curveball has tight rotation with nice 1/7 shape and quality depth. Big crossfire element to the delivery and the fastball comes out of the hand cleanly. Uncomfortable at-bat for hitters of the same handedness and fields position well. Big hip turn and coil near the top of the delivery but repeats down the mound well. Advanced feel for the curveball, can throw the pitch for strikes and swings and misses. Flashed a changeup that showed a high ceiling. Has no issues getting over his front side and working to both sides of the plate. Funky overall delivery that adds deception. Good fundamental tools and will improve with strength.
