Luke Stevenson is a 2023 C/1B with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Wake Forest, NC who attends Wake Forest. Large, broad shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned nicely throughout build. Ran a 7.29 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate, receives the ball out front, strides open with front leg coming out of crouch, can continue to refine lower half mechanics, tight release on throws from a higher slot and shows big arm strength (85 mph) down to second base. Left-handed hitter, begins with a lower hand set and shows a quick, lifted stroke through the zone; incorporates physical strength very well into swing and generates big bat speed to the point of contact. Consistent swing path and shows real juice to the pull side with a full finish through contact. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to North Carolina.
