2018 National Underclass West Showcase
Eric Sims is a 2020 SS/2B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Litchfield Park, AZ who attends IMG Academy. Medium frame with physical, strong build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.39 seconds. Switch hitter, leg lift trigger from left side, does a good job creating separation and generating bat speed with whip through the zone, showed good pull side pop. Tends to drift onto front side from right side, swings it hard with intent to do damage, pull-side approach with solid pop. Worked out in the infield, moves very well to both sides with clean footwork and twitchy feet, fields cleanly and shows some arm strength across, clocked up to 80 mph. Named to 2018 National Underclass West Top Prospect List, good student.
