Michael Yourg is a 2018 C/1B/OF with a 6-3 230 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Francis W. Parker HS. Large frame with a solid build. Left handed hitter with a straight, knee knocking stance. Hands load back to a strong position as barrel head lays back slightly. Launches to contact on an compact, inside path with a line drive swing plane. Shows solid strength through extension with a gap to gap approach. Present bat speed through extension, baseball jumps off barrel at times and splits the gaps. Worked out defensively from behind the plate showing a lower set with good hip felxion. Lower arm cirlce at separation and exchange. Smooth tempo, two piece release from an over top arm slot. Throws produce some carry to the bag with accuracy. Fundamental lower half and develops solid gain towards the bag. Repeats lower half and throwing actions well. Good student as well.
