Jason Johnson is a 2023 RHP/OF, UT with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Gaston Day School. Medium to Large frame with a lean, athletic type build. Ran a 7.06 second sixty yard dash. Primary Right-Handed Pitcher, working exclusively from the stretch. Shorter leg lift below the belt before driving down hill. Lands open and released from a three-quarter slot. Fastball showing life as he sweeps it across the plate up to 85 mph. Also mixed in a breaking ball with 10-to-4 movements. Will find more consistency around the zone with mechanical clean-up's as the arm stroke is easy. Secondary Outfielder, sitting back on the baseball a bit before working through it. Extra steps into release as he threw it 88 mph and showed off the arm strength. Right-Handed Hitter, open to start with some bat waggle. Picks up the front foot and puts it right back down before working into a linear cut. Strength in the hands present as he fires the bat head through the zone. Looks to get extended and pull the baseball for power. Good Student. Named to National Underclass Southeast Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
