Ricardo Santiago is a 2020 OF/RHP, MIF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Salpointe Catholic. Medium frame with some strength in build and room to continue to add without sacrificing the athleticism. Projects well moving forward. Ran a 6.92 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Fields to the side staying low throughout actions. Smooth exchanges with clean footwork working toward the bag. Gets on top of the ball and stays accurate to the bag creating carry at 86 MPH. Righthanded hitter with an even stance. Utilizes a heel lift trigger for timing. Direct path into contact while being able to create above average barrel speed. Keeps the weight on the backside working the middle to opposite field. Occasional jump off the bat when able to square it up and turn the barrel out in front. Secondary righthanded pitcher working exclusively from the stretch. Leg lift slightly above the belt. Lands in line to the plate with a long and loose arm action in the back. Gets into an over the top arm slot. Creates plane on the fastball from slot staying low in the zone at 81 MPH. Shorter drop on a 12-to-6 shape curveball. Can land the breaking ball for strikes. Works more towards weaker ground ball contact. Good student as well. Named to the 2019 Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
