Mason Smith is a 2022 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Stanley, NC who attends Lincoln Charter HS. Recorded a 7.22 second 60-yard dash time. Tall and strong frame with a projectable build. Primary shortstop with good arm strength recorded up to 86 mph across the diamond. Quality athleticism with a quick glove hand, smoothness to actions, and accuracy across. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a long side step into a high leg swing. High hands with a clean break and good downhill action on the fastball. Late life with sinking action and showed a tight slider with a similar arm slot. Very fast tempo with a quality two-pitch mix. Righthanded hitter with a balanced base, toe tap trigger, and a quick barrel. Spread stance to start with quality bat speed. Middle of the field approach with good carry. Gets extended well with accurate barrel skills. Great student. Named to the Fall Atlantic Coast TP List.
